SOUTH VIEW

Wrea Green, Lancashire

South View is part of a small rural development between the Lancashire towns of Lytham and Wrea Green, built in the 1950’s as a series of semi detached dwellings. The clients wished to transform the property to create a family home with open plan living areas and internal spaces that realise the potential of natural lighting and the open views across farmland towards Blackpool.

The renovations have largely retained the proportions and locations of the glazing to the street frontage, whilst the rear of the property has been extended with a two storey glazed gable and a single storey extension of the ground floor living area. The glazing to the rear allows access to raised garden terrace and at first floor to a balcony serving the main bedroom. In addition to the large areas of glazing at the rear of the property, rooflighting above the stair and within the extension allow sunlight to penetrate to the centre of the plan.
