Cartmel, Cumbria

The appointment involved alterations to three properties located in the town square of the historic market town of Cartmel, Cumbria. The buildings of the square are heritage assets and the properties concerned have Grade II Listed Building status.

Understandably, the process involved close negotiations with the local Council to agree proposals that were acceptable to  interested parties. Listed building consent was granted for the renovations and extension of an 18th century barn, the improvement and extensions to an existing converted barn and improvements to a Georgian hotel.

Extensions to the development include a structural glass addition to the client’s residence and external landscaping, providing improved links to the adjacent River Eea.
